WHY WE MUST NOT ABANDON OUR SALAAH ( 5 DAILY PRAYERS)
Salaah is not just a ritual—it is a divine privilege. It is the sacred moment when a servant meets their Lord, Allah, five times a day. Unlike any worldly appointment, this meeting requires no intermediary. It is a direct conversation with the Creator of the universe, the Most Merciful, the One who listens to each of us with undivided attention.
Which leader or ruler in this world would grant us an audience at our convenience, multiple times a day? Yet, Allah, the Lord of all existence, has honored us with this direct line of communication. Nothing could be more special.
However, to truly experience the profound connection that Salaah offers, we must ensure that we pray on time, free our minds from distractions, and stand before Allah with full humility and awareness. When we reflect on the words we recite and imagine His gaze upon us, Salaah becomes more than an obligation—it becomes a source of peace and spiritual elevation. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) described it as the coolness of the eyes, a means of strengthening our Eeman (faith) daily. If we wish to increase our faith, there is no greater path than consistently observing our five daily prayers.
Moreover, the closest a believer can be to Allah is in Sujood (prostration). The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) emphasized that during this moment, we are nearest to our Lord. It is a position of utmost humility and devotion, where our sins are forgiven, our burdens lifted, and our hearts softened.
But what about those who neglect this sacred duty? What are the consequences of abandoning Salaah?
Join me tomorrow, in shaa Allah, as we reflect on the severe warnings for those who forsake their prayers. May Allah keep us steadfast, protect us from all evil influences, and grant us the strength to uphold this beautiful pillar of Islam. Aameen.
