Saudi Arabia authorities have announced that only people who have received at least the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine will be allowed to perform the Umrah pilgrimage during Ramadan 2021 (1442AH).

This was contained in a release on Monday which stated that, “Umrah and Prayer in Masjid Al Haram, Makkah during #Ramadan will only be allowed for “Immune” people who have:

  1. Received atleast one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine and 14 days have passed.
  2. Contracted and Recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months”

Consequently, another release stated that, “Praying in Rawdah Asharifah and Visit to the Graves of Prophet (PBUH) and His Companions (RA) will only be allowed to people who have:
Received atleast one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine and 14 days have passed
Contracted and Recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months”
