CORONAVIRUS SCARE: NYSC SUSPENDS ORIENTATION EXERCISE NATIONWIDE
Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have directed an immediate suspension of the ongoing orientation exercise for the batch of youth corps members. The exercise holding in all thirty six states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory commenced on March 10 and was supposed to end on March 30, lasting for three weeks.
However, this morning, the youth corps members were woken to a rude shock as the authorities at the orientation camps told them that the National headquarters have directed the immediate discontinuation of the orientation exercise.
A short statement from the Minister for Youth and Sports Development said the move is a precautionary measure to check the spread of COVID19.

NYSC headquarters is working on the theory that several international returning students might have been on that particular flight or even though on different flights, they could have been infected from the countries they were coming from. They are avoiding a situation whereby the orientation grounds would be a source of spreading the virus within the country.
The corps members are still waiting for directives on when they will be posted to Places of Primary Assignment (PPA).
