📚 A Summary of Islāmic Jurisprudence
🌿1 •→ It is a Sunnah.
🌿2 •→ It is done due to a reason, i.e. due to recitation of certain Āyāt from the Qur’ān.
🌿3 •→ It is an act of worship ordained by Allāh and His Messenger -l[ﷺ]l-.
🌿4 •→ It is to be done by the one who is reciting and the one who is listening.
🌿5 •→ ❝Whenever the Prophet -l[ﷺ]l- recited the Sūrah that contained the Āyah of Prostration, he -l[ﷺ]l- would prostrate and the Companions would do the same with him.❞ [Sahīhain].
🌿6 •→ There are 15 places of Prostrations in the Qur’ān marked with a special symbol (۩).
i •→ Sūrah al-A’rāf (7): 206
ii •→ Sūrah al-Rād (13): 15
iii •→ Sūrah al-Nahl (16): 49
iv •→ Sūrah al-Isrā’ (17): 107
v •→ Sūrah Maryam (19): 58
vi •→ Sūrah al-Hajj (22): 18
vii •→ Sūrah al-Hajj (22): 77
viii •→ Sūrah al-Furqān (25): 60
ix •→ Sūrah al-Naml (27): 25
x •→ Sūrah al-Sajdah (32): 15

xiii •→ Sūrah al-Najm (53): 62
xiv •→ Sūrah al-Inshiqāq (84): 21
xv •→ Sūrah al-Alaq (96): 19
🌿7 •→ When going into prostration, one should say the Takbîyr (Allāhu-Akbar) as reported by Ibn Umar -l[رَضِّيْ اْلَّـلهُ عَنْهُ]l- [Sunan Abū Dāwūd].
🌿8 •→ In Prostration of Recitation one should say:
-l[سبحان ربي الأعلى]l-
(Sub-hāna Rabbiyal-A’lā) like one does in regular prayer,
🌿9 •→ One may also say the following:
-l[اللهُمَّ لَكَ سَجَدْتُ، وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَلَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، سَجَدَ وَجْهِي لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ، وَصَوَّرَهُ، وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ، تَبَارَكَ اللهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ]l-
(O Allāh, it is to You that I prostrate myself, and it is in You that I affirm my Faith, and I submit to You. My face is submitted before One Who created it, and shaped it, and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allāh, the best of Creators) [Sahīh Muslim and the 4 Books of Sunan].

ii •→ his two palms
iii •→ his two knees
iv •→ his two feet
🌿12 •→ There is no Taslîym (saying Salāms to the either side) after doing the Prostration of Recitation. [Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymîyn – Sharh al-Mumti].
