PHOTOS: AMIS OLUYOLE CHAPTER ORGANISES FREE WORKSHOP FOR 450 EDUCATORS

…Calls for Standard Schools Operation

The Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS), Oluyole Chapter, in collaboration with Imam IbnulQayyim Islamic Foundation organised a Free Workshop for 450 Educators on Saturday, 7th September, 2024.

This was revealed in a statement signed by Ustādh Rasheed Haashim of Muflihun Schools, Ibadan, on behalf of AMIS Oluyole and Imam IbnulQayyim Islamic Foundation.

The workshop sponsored by L. O. Foundation, themed “Empowering Educators: Enhancing Professionalism and Learners’ Performances” was held at Sablak Event Center, Sanyo-Soka Area, Ibadan.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Munir Ademola, Director, Qiblah Schools, Alesinloye, Ibadan extensively discussed the workshop’s theme.

Also speaking, Ustãdh Rasheed Haashim, Director, Muflihun Schools, Ibadan, corroborate on the theme of the workshop, while urging educators to “focus on running standard schools, harness technology, and making curriculum flexible”.

The educators were further encouraged to “cover curriculum, make use of varying teaching methodologies, upgrade their qualifications, adopt the use of relevant teaching aids, and consider the 21st century children’s needs among other important points”.

Similarly, the third session of the workshop was brain storming among the school proprietors only on a reasonable number of issues affecting them such as, “school financing strategies, ICT and school management, class apportionment, implications of 18-year-old age limit for WAEC/NECO examinations, quality control in schools, school approval processes, Islamic moral education and avoidance of examination malpractices”.

The brain storming session was ably led by Chairman, AMIS South West and Kwara Chapter, Alhaji Qasim Muhibbudeen of Ar-Roqeeb Schools and Chairman, AMIS Oluyole Chapter, Alhaji Ameen Keuyemi.

“School owners present made meaningful contributions too. It was indeed a splendid workshop and first of its kind with such huge number of educators”.

During his remarks, Alhaji Qasim Muhibbudeen, Chairman, AMIS South West and Kwara Chapter appreciated the management of L. O. Foundation for sponsoring such a laudable free workshop.

He supplicated to Allah to accept it from them as an act of worship and reward them with Firdaws.

On his part, Alhaji Nurudeen Yekeen of The Light Islamic Schools who was the Chairman of the organising committee of 2024 Sablak Free Workshop commended the invited guests and educators who attended the workshop in troop.

He extended his heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors supplicating to Allah to continue elevating their status.

The participants were issued certificates of participation at the end of the program.
