FIRST JUMMAH IN RAMADAN: A FRIDAY OF MULTIPLIED MERCY
The first Jumu’ah in Ramadan is not an ordinary Friday. It is a meeting of two sacred times the best day of the week and the best month of the year. When these two rivers of mercy meet, the believer should not stand at the shore distracted.
Friday is already a day of forgiveness, accepted du‘a, and increased blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Ramadan is already a month of purification, elevation, and multiplied rewards. Combine them, and you have an opportunity that should make the heart alert and hopeful.
This is not just another khutbah. It is a spiritual checkpoint.
Have you entered Ramadan with intention? Have you softened your heart? Have you forgiven people quietly, for the sake of Allah alone? The first Jumu’ah is a chance to recalibrate. If the first few days were slow or unfocused, today is a reset button gifted to you.
Increase your salawat today. Arrive early to the masjid. Listen to the khutbah as if it was delivered only for you. Make sincere du‘a in the last hour before Maghrib the scholars mention that Friday holds a special hour when supplication is accepted. Ramadan multiplies that hope.
There is something profound about gathering shoulder to shoulder while fasting. Hunger humbles the ego. The khutbah sharpens the mind. The Qur’an softens the heart. This is how transformation begins not loudly, but steadily.
Do not let this first Jumu’ah pass like a routine appointment. Let it mark the moment you decided this Ramadan will be different.
May this Friday open doors of forgiveness, clarity, and barakah for you and your household. May it strengthen your resolve for the days ahead. And may this Ramadan be the one that changes the direction of your life for the better.
Jumu’ah Mubarak.
