WEEKEND REFLECTION: SLOW DOWN, YOUR SOUL NEEDS REST TOO

We spend the week chasing  deadlines, people, plans, and progress. By Friday night, the body is tired, but if we’re honest, it’s not just the body that’s exhausted  it’s the soul.

We rest our eyes, but not our hearts. We scroll for hours, yet still feel empty. The truth is, your soul doesn’t recharge through sleep or entertainment  it recharges through connection with its Creator.

Take this weekend to pause and realign. Step away from the noise, even if just for a little while. Pray your salah slowly. Reflect between Adhan and Iqamah. Recite Qur’an, not for completion, but for conversation  as if Allah is speaking directly to you through every verse.

Revisit your intentions. Ask yourself: “Why am I doing what I’m doing? Who am I trying to please?” Because when the heart forgets its purpose, even success feels heavy.

And spend time in gratitude not only for what you have, but for what Allah protected you from without you even knowing. Gratitude shifts the heart from anxiety to peace.

So this weekend, instead of chasing more, choose less. Choose calm. Choose closeness to Allah.

Because true rest isn’t found in comfort  it’s found in contentment. And the only place your heart will ever find that is in the remembrance of the One who created it.

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:28)

Would you like me to create another weekend piece maybe one themed around gratitude, family time, or renewing intentions?
