2025 HAJJ: BAUCHI TO BEGIN COMPULSORY POLIO VACCINATION FOR INTENDING PILGRIMS MONDAY

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, in partnership with the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, has announced plans to begin polio vaccinations for intending pilgrims on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Speaking during a press briefing in his office on Saturday, the Board’s Executive Secretary, Abdulrahman Ibrahim, explained that; “The vaccination will be administered at every local government primary healthcare agency in the state, starting at 10am.

“The vaccination is compulsory for all intending pilgrims as required by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj Affairs.”

He emphasised that the board will ensure every intending pilgrim receives the vaccine before departing for Saudi Arabia.

Abdulrahman said, “The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj Affairs has made it mandatory for all pilgrims to receive the polio vaccine before entering the holy land.

“We will ensure that all intending pilgrims from Bauchi State comply with this requirement.

According to reports, the vaccination effort aims to protect the health and well-being of Bauchi State’s pilgrims during their journey to Saudi Arabia.

“Special consideration will be given to women who will undergo pregnancy tests.

“The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is working closely with the State Primary Healthcare development and other Healthcare agencies to ensure a smooth and successful vaccination process.

“To prioritising the health and safety of intending pilgrims, the state government is demonstrating its commitment to supporting the well-being of its citizens,” the board chairman added.
