MURIC HAILS EL-RUFAI’S BAIL
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has welcomed the decision of the Federal High Court in Kaduna to grant bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday, 14th April 2026.
El-Rufai had been in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for several weeks prior to the court’s ruling.
Reacting to the development, the Executive Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, described the decision as overdue but commendable, expressing satisfaction over the former governor’s release.
“It is long overdue, belated, but we welcome Mallam El-Rufai with both arms. It is hoped that he will be allowed to attend to his family this time around. El-Rufai is a household name and a performer. We love him for who he is: a fearless, selfless leader,” Akintola stated.
MURIC’s statement comes amid growing public reactions to the legal proceedings involving the former governor, whose detention had generated significant attention across political and civic circles.
