SMALL DEEDS, HUGE REWARDS IN RAMADAN

Ramadan Day 2 has a quiet lesson: consistency matters more than intensity.

Many people begin Ramadan with powerful intentions. Long prayers. Big Qur’an goals. Ambitious schedules. And that enthusiasm is beautiful. But here is something the Prophet ﷺ made clear  the most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.

Small does not mean insignificant.

In Ramadan, a single sincere du’a can outweigh pages of distracted recitation. Two focused rak’ahs can be heavier on the scale than long, tired worship done without presence. A glass of water given for iftar can carry immense reward.

Ramadan multiplies.

The month is designed as a mercy multiplier. Good deeds are amplified. Charity carries greater weight. Night prayers shine brighter. Even a smile can become sadaqah. The scale of reward is not always proportional to the size of the action — it is proportional to sincerity.

This is comforting.

Because not everyone can stand for long taraweeh every night. Not everyone has the energy to recite multiple juz daily. Some are working long hours. Some are mothers managing households. Some are elderly. Some are students balancing exams.

Ramadan is not a competition of exhaustion.

It is a season of intention.

There is a fascinating principle in behavioral science called “compounding.” Small actions repeated daily produce massive results over time. Saving a small amount consistently builds wealth. Exercising briefly but regularly builds strength. Reading a few pages daily builds knowledge.

Spiritual growth works the same way.

One page of Qur’an every day becomes thirty pages by the end of the month.
One consistent charity habit becomes a softened heart.
One daily moment of quiet reflection becomes a transformed mindset.

On Day 2, avoid overwhelming yourself. Build sustainable worship.

Choose 2–3 deeds you can maintain:
– A fixed time for Qur’an, even if brief.
– A daily act of charity, even if small.
– A sincere du’a before iftar every single day.

Small deeds done with sincerity are not small to Allah.

Sometimes we chase dramatic transformation. Ramadan instead teaches steady refinement. Character improves through repetition. Faith deepens through routine. Taqwa grows through daily awareness.

The seed you water consistently grows stronger than the one you flood once and forget.

So today, focus less on doing everything. Focus on doing something  consistently.

By the end of Ramadan, you will not remember how hungry you were. But you will remember the habits you built.

And those habits can outlive the month.
