8 DAYS TO RAMADAN: WHAT IF THIS IS YOUR LAST ONE?
By: Adedeji Adenike
Eight days.
That number feels small when you say it slowly. Ramadan is almost here. Plans are forming. Menus are being discussed. Group chats are already buzzing about Taraweeh schedules. But pause for a moment and step away from the noise.
What if this Ramadan is your last?
This is not meant to frighten you. It is meant to awaken you.
Every year, we enter Ramadan assuming we will see another one. Yet every year, some who fasted beside us are no longer here. Some who stood shoulder to shoulder in prayer last Ramadan now rest beneath the earth. Life is fragile. Time is not guaranteed. That is not pessimism that is reality.
Awareness changes everything.
If you truly believed this was your final Ramadan, how would you approach it? Would you delay repentance? Would you scroll through your nights? Would you treat Taraweeh as optional when you “feel like it”? Or would you hold every fast like it matters deeply?
Perspective purifies intention.
Ramadan is not just a season. It is an opportunity that may not repeat. Allah, in His mercy, allows us to witness sacred days again and again but none of us has a written contract promising another year.
This thought should not create panic. It should create focus.
Instead of asking, “How can I do more this Ramadan?” perhaps ask, “How can I do this Ramadan better?” Better focus. Better sincerity. Better presence in prayer. Better discipline with the tongue. Better treatment of people.
If this were your last Ramadan, you would not chase perfection. You would chase acceptance. You would care less about how others see your worship and more about whether Allah accepts it.
Preparation begins now not on the first night.
Prepare your heart by clearing grudges.
Prepare your schedule by protecting prayer times.
Prepare your habits by reducing distractions.
Prepare your intention by deciding who you want to become before the month even begins.
Ramadan is a gift. And gifts are honored by readiness.
Let these eight days be days of quiet alignment. Renew your tawbah. Fix your salah. Reconnect with the Qur’an even before the month starts. Enter Ramadan already moving, not scrambling.
And if this Ramadan awakens in you a longing for something deeper a desire to stand in Makkah, to pray in Madinah, to answer the call of Hajj or Umrah do not ignore that stirring in your heart.
At 3SixtyIslam, we are committed to guiding you on sacred journeys with excellence, integrity, and spiritual focus. From organized Hajj packages to well-structured Umrah trips, we ensure that your journey is smooth, comfortable, and centered on worship.
Ramadan reminds us that life is temporary. Hajj and Umrah remind us that the destination is eternal.
Prepare your heart. Prepare your worship. And when you are ready, prepare your journey with 3SixtyIslam.
