Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving a $125 million financing facility from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to support the Abia State Integrated Infrastructure Development Project.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the governor noted that the approval was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday, August 13.
Otti expressed appreciation to the National Assembly, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, the Vice President of the IsDB, and other stakeholders who played a role in securing the facility.
According to the statement, the fund will support the construction of approximately 126 kilometres of road network in Aba and 35.57 kilometres in Umuahia, alongside critical erosion control works within the project areas.
