The 1447AH Umrah season officially begins today, 11 June 2025, with the Saudi government reopening visa issuance for international pilgrims and enabling digital permit processing via the Nusuk platform.
This marks the end of previously enforced entry blackout periods, allowing uninterrupted access to Masjid al-Haram.
International pilgrims can now apply for Umrah visas through authorized channels and receive permits instantly via Nusuk.
The lifting of these restrictions signals a return to year-round Umrah access for Muslims across the globe.
Authorities have emphasized that individuals without a valid visa or digital permit will be turned away at checkpoints to ensure orderly crowd management.
Worshipers are encouraged to download the Nusuk app, register, and plan their pilgrimage in line with the digital scheduling system.
With this shift to a fully digital process, Saudi Arabia aims to streamline pilgrimage operations and better accommodate the spiritual needs of millions of Muslims.
The 1447AH Umrah season is expected to set a new benchmark in convenience, safety, and service efficiency at Islam’s holiest sites.
