As millions of Muslims prepare for the annual hajj pilgrimage, understanding the correct way to wear the Ihram is important.
The Ihram is not merely clothing—it marks the spiritual state in which a pilgrim commits to specific religious obligations and restrictions.
Before donning the Ihram, pilgrims are encouraged to cleanse themselves through ghusl (ritual bath).
It is Sunnah (recommended) to:

Trim the nails

Shave the armpits and pubic hair

Apply perfume (to the body only—not the Ihram garments)
This ritual cleansing signifies spiritual renewal and readiness for the pilgrimage.
For Men:
Men wear two unstitched white cloths:

Izar: wrapped around the waist, covering from the navel to below the knees.
