The Ramadan Sadaqah Train (RST) 1446 A.H., an initiative under the Shifa Concerns Foundation, successfully disbursed ₦1.75 million to 200 beneficiaries in need during the holy month of Ramadan.

A statement signed by Dr. Fatimat Amoke Balogun-Rabiu, revealed that the charitable initiative, which ran from February 23 to April 1, 2025, drew support from 66 donors—both local and international—who collectively contributed ₦1,957,500.

It added that this year’s campaign surpassed the previous year’s donations by ₦428,500 despite having fewer donors, showcasing the continued spirit of generosity amid economic hardship.

Disbursement was done in four batches through online transfers and physical distribution in Lagos, where beneficiaries also received Iftar meals.

Breakdown of the batches:

  • Batch 1 (2nd–4th March): 50 beneficiaries, ₦500,000

  • Batch 2 (4th–17th March): 30 beneficiaries, ₦300,000

  • Batch 3 (23rd March): 100 beneficiaries, ₦500,000 in cash plus Iftar at Majoolagbe Mosque, Ikorodu

  • Batch 4 (21st March–1st April): 20 beneficiaries, ₦200,000

Operational and logistics expenses totaled ₦250,000, covering catering, transport, bank charges, and team appreciation, leaving a balance of ₦207,500.

According to the statement, the remaining funds will be used to formally register the Shifa Concerns Foundation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and open a dedicated bank account to enhance transparency.

The RST team expressed profound gratitude to all donors and supporters, including those who could not contribute financially but supported with prayers and encouragement, adding that plans are underway to expand and institutionalize the initiative for greater impact in future cycles.

The Ramadan Sadaqah Train continues to be a beacon of hope and compassion, embodying the true essence of giving in the blessed month.
