EDO KILLINGS: ISLAMIC CLERIC CAUTIONS YOBE MUSLIMS AGAINST RETALIATION

The Chief Imam of the Goni Muktar Islamic Centre, Prof. Musa Tukur, has urged authorities to investigate the Edo massacre while cautioning the Muslim Ummah against taking the law into their own hands.

Speaking during his sermon after the two raka’at Eid-el-Fitr prayers, Tukur emphasized the importance of Eid and the need for spiritual reflection beyond Ramadan.

He also encouraged Muslims to spread love and joy within their communities.

It was gathered that Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni was among the hundreds of Muslim faithful who observed the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Yobe Islamic Centre, marking the end of Ramadan 1446 AH.

The eld prayer, which was led by Sheikh Hudu Mohammed, was attended by both the executive council members and the legislature, with the Speaker, Chiroma Buba Mashio, leading the Yobe House of Assembly members.

In his sermon, Hudu Mohammed urged the Muslim Ummah to continue with the teachings and lessons learned in the month of Ramadan, especially in their worldly affairs.

“I urge you to observe the lessons learned in sacrifice during the month of Ramadan, show love and happiness to follow Muslim, and the non-Muslim alike,” Sheikh Hudu admonished the gathering.

Our correspondent further reports that the two rakaat prayers for Eid were peacefully conducted at the various eid grounds.

The Goni Muktar Eld prayer led by Prof. Musa Tukur took place at the Goni Muktar Eld Ground along the Gujb road Damaturu.

“Be your brother’s keeper and maintain the lessons of the month of Ramadan,” he stressed.

Prof. Ali Manzo and Dr. Sani Mohammed Nguru delivered the pre-sermon lecture at the Eld prayer ground, stressing the significance of the day, Eid al-Fitr.

Dr. Mohammed advised the Muslim ummah to adhere to the lessons of Ramadan by continuing to be their brother’s keeper.
