The Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has declared Tuesday 23rd June, 2020 as the first day of Dhul Qa’dah 1441AH.
In a press release signed by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs of Sultanate Council, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, the Advisory Committee and the National Moon sighting Committee noted that they didn’t receive any report from the various moonsighting committees nationwide, confirming the sighting of the crescent of Dhul Qa’dah 1441AH on Sunday, June 21 2020 equivalent to 29th Shawwal 1441AH.
The statement added that “His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has accepted the report and accordingly declared Tuesday 23rd June, as the first day of Zulki’ida 1441AH.”
