OLIVE OIL

Olive oil (Zaitoon) is one of the fruits mentioned in the Holy Quran and hadith. Olives have a long history of medicinal properties. The fruit is mainly cultivated in Mediterranean countries. It contains monounsaturated fatty acids which are beneficial for the heart and circulation. It is believed that figs were first cultivated in Egypt thousands of years ago. It’s low in calories with antioxidant vitamins to protect us from cancer, diabetes, degenerative tissue diseases, and infections. Olive is an oval fruit, 23 cm long. Olive trees can produce 10 to 20 kilograms of fruit.
      Olives have a high medicinal value. Taken orally, it is a mild, nutritious, and relaxing laxative fruit that can improve stomach ulcers. Olive oil is a laxative. External use of olive oil softens eczema skin and blisters, suitable for massage. “Olive” has been repeated six times in the Quran. (“So, the man should consider his food, how well We poured water, then how nicely We split the earth, then We grew in grain, and grapes and greens, and olive and date-palms, and gardens, full of thick trees” (80:24-30)

       In addition, Surah Al-Mu’minum, Q23V20, {And indeed (we brought forth) a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat}.  Indirectly points to an oil-bearing tree growing on Mount Sinai. Although the name of olive is mentioned more than twice, other fruits such as dates, grapes and figs repeat five times. “He sends water from the sky, so we create all plants. From these, we give birth to green leaves and compound grains, palm trees stacking date palm clusters within reach, vineyards and olive trees and pomegranates and others. Behold their fruit as they ripen, and of course here are the signs of the believing nation. The Quran swore figs with olives. “With figs and olives! And acid, Sinai, and a safe country (Mecca)!” Indeed, we have created humans with the most beautiful keys. “The oil-growing tree (olive tree) that sprouts on Mount Sinai are the taste of the eater.    Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything. “He sends down water from the sky. From it you drink, and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds. By it He makes crops grow for you, as well as olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect”

     The benefits of the olive are numerous – including helping prevent heart disease and lowering blood pressure because of the oleic acid within the olive. In general, because of phenolic compounds like Hydroxytyrosol, olives also help increase blood flow in the body, further helping maintain a healthy heart, making it a great option to include in your diet for health and taste reasons!
