NAHCON SEEKS ACCREDITATION FOR ITS TRAINING INSTITUTE

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), on Wednesday, submitted an application to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the establishment of a National Hajj Training Institute.

While presenting the request letter to the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Dr Mas’udu Adamu Kazaure at the board’s headquarters in Kaduna, NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan noted that the existence of a training institute will formalise the training activities of the Commission.

He said that the Hajj industry is a multi billion dollar industry and such an industry requires people with formal and all-round knowledge about the industry.

While stating that the commission intends to publish books, manuals and videos to boost its service delivery, he said, “we want to train people, collate and analyse data, train teachers, produce manual and set a minimum standard for those willing to participate in Hajj. We want to contribute to the growth of Nigeria economy.”

On his part, Kazaure applauded NAHCON for its efforts towards establishing a training institute and listed the criteria required for the value-driven Hajj training institute.

He also promised that an advisory team will be sent to the commission next week to perfect the necessary requirements for the proposed institute.
