KNOWLEDGE IN ISLAM

The importance of knowledge in Islam is great such that some Hadith of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) emphasised on the acquisition of knowledge as it is known that ignorance leads to evil practices.

One of the Hadith of the Prophet is cited below:

“For him who follows a path for seeking knowledge, Allah will ease for him the path to Paradise.”
-The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Muslim)

You cannot exhaust the whole knowledge in this world but it will be beneficial if you learn all you can to live a fulfilled life as a Muslim.

The knowledge of your religion (Deen) is essential as it will lead you to getting close to your creator which is beneficial in this world and hereafter.

The knowledge you gain can also be passed on to other people and your family members which is the beauty of Islam.

No one knows it all but you can always consult Islamic scholars that are widely read and considered knowledgeable. This will also help you have a real grounding in the Islamic tradition.

It is advisable too to spend time learning Islam from people that are committed to the Deen and make friends with Muslim families.

By maintaining a sense of humility you will gain a lot of knowledge, as there will always be someone who will be more knowledgeable than you. Learn everything you can bit by bit.

Learning through translated books and the internet is not a bad idea too. You should be able to sieve through and pick what is beneficial for your Islamic growth, spiritually and physically.
